The CL-500A is a compact and lightweight illuminance spectrophotometer that can be used for both illuminance measurements and high-quality, next-generation lamps such as LED and EL lighting. It is the first portable illuminance spectrophotometer to meet DIN and JIS standards. The CL-500A can measure illuminance, color temperature, and measurements of CRI (Chromatic Rendering Index), chromaticity, and spectral energy distribution.

The CL-500A’s measurement functions include continuous measurement modes, average or multiple measurement samples, measurement lag function, and data display at a specific wavelength. Spectral irradiance can be measured in a 1-nm field from 360 to 780nm, so it can be used for the measurement of light color and photosynthetic photon flux density. High speed measurements can be made using the Software Development Kit (5 times per second).
Data Management Software (CL-S10w) is included as a standard accessory. It includes a format to express the chromaticity variation of light sources such as LEDs or OLEDs in terms of the MacAdam SDCM (Standard Deviation of Color Matching) step. This enables color differences to be visualized close to visual judgment. The software is also equipped with LED binning function and a spectral irradiance wavelength display.
