The Alcatel Lucent 1603 SM is designed to enhance optical transport and improve the high-speed capabilities of your metro markets. Ring rates reach up to OC-48 while it also has high-speed optics in OC-3 and OC-12 options. Models can also taper your routes to give customers the ability to upgrade ring segments to higher optic rates, but you still preserve the lower rate in the rest of your ring.
